Issue Position

Our immigration and border security systems are broken and failed. Amnesty is not the answer. As Attorney General, I would immediately join the pending suit brought by other state attorneys general challenging President Obama's attempt to unilaterally rewrite immigration law. The President's actions abuse the administrative rulemaking process and violate the separation of powers.

Entitlements, such as welfare or Medicaid, should not be extended to illegals. If illegal immigrants desire eligibility they should return to their home country and go through the lawful citizenship application process.

The terrorist attacks in Paris reveal just what a national security crisis broken borders can be. Our porous southern border with Mexico represents a back door for our enemies. We must act now to secure the border. Time is of the essence.
